The countdown is still on and you may be still trying to convince your boss to send you to Content Marketing Conference 2017, figuring out alternative lodging options, or just deciding which marketing workshop(s) to attend.

Our next content marketing superhero will have you pushing the “register” button with his ability to sniff out bull and tactical tips on how to improve as a writer and marketer.

Josh Bernoff has been battling bullshit for more than 30 years as a writer, analyst, editor, coach, and author.

HIs latest book, Writing Without Bullshit: Boost Your Career by Saying What You Mean (HarperBusiness, 2016), describes everything you need to know about fighting bullshit, writing with clarity, and standing out from the crowd.

The Globe and Mail called it “a Strunk and White for the modern knowledge worker.” Ready to learn more about the man behind the mask?

Meet Josh Bernoff aka The Bullshit Buster

What special skills and superpowers do you have and where did you get them?

I can extract meaning from the most overwritten, bullshit-laden content. I was exposed to radioactive prose over a period of 30 years, and developed this defense from intensive study and training.

What are your favorite content marketing weapons (tools) that help you win the battle?

My tools are clarity, brevity, and wit.

Who is your arch-enemy and how do you recommend they be conquered?

I stand ready to battle bullshit wherever it lurks. Conquering it requires constant suspicion, editorial effort, and a commitment to clarity.

Josh has written four business books, including the bestseller Groundswell: Winning in a World Transformed by Social Technologies (Harvard Business Press, 2008).

He blogs every weekday about writing, communication, and bullshit. His blog will soon top 2 million views.

For 20 years before becoming a solitary superhero, Josh was an analyst and senior vice president, idea development at Forrester Research.

In his quest to rid the world of bullshit, Josh runs clear writing workshops for corporate writers and departments. He helps authors develop ideas, edits their books, and gives keynote speeches about the value of clear writing.

Josh is also the CEO of wellnesscampaign.org, a non-profit dedicated to the pursuit of wellness through changing habits. Even so, his body doesn’t actually look like the picture on this card.
