The last day of CMC 2019 is filled with events that you don’t want to miss. From the closing breakfast, to the comedy workshops, to the final goodbye, Day 4 is sure to be memorable to say the least. While you might be thinking about checking out of your hotel, making sure you have all of your new business cards safe and sound, and all of those last minute packing activities that typically happen at the end of the conference, be careful that you don’t become trapped in the all too familiar metaphor of a chicken running around with its head cut off. In other words, Day 4 should be a time for reflection, capturing those final tidbits of wisdom, and having a few laughs along the way. Fortunately, the following guide will help you to avoid the headless chicken conundrum so that you can end CMC 2019 on a high note.

Make The Most Out Of CMC Day 4

They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, which is why you should be sure to attend breakfast from 8:00am to 9:00am. During the first few days of the conference you hopefully made a few connections with your fellow attendees and speakers. On Day 3 take a few moments to set up a breakfast date (professionally speaking of course) for Day 4. Whether you want to make it a group activity with your fellow attendees, or are hoping to snab a few moments of one-on-one time with your favorite speaker, Day 4 breakfast offers a great opportunity to put your networking skills to good use.

Next, be sure to attend at least one of the comedy workshops. This year, CMC 2019 is filled with speakers who will have you gasping for breath, clutching your sides, and becoming a living version of the laughing while crying emoji. You have been forewarned. On Day 4 you will have the opportunity to see the following speakers:

  • Leigh Kessler, 9:00am – 9:55am, How to Brand Product, Service, or Yourself like a Stand-Up Comedian. — During this comedy workshop, Leigh Kessler will help you learn how to find your “original something.” What is an “original something?” It is that deeply authentic and truly unique brand voice. To help you find yours, Leigh Kessler will take a few pages out of the stand-up comedians’ playbook. With references to Ansari, Seinfeld, Carlin, and Friendlander, this workshop is sure to give you inspiration, insights, and at least a few laughs along the way as you learn how to make your own marketing journey from open mic to headliner to breakout star.
  • Andrew Tarvin, 9:00am – 9:55am, The Art, Science, and Comedic Secrets to Cranking Out Great Content. — Andrew Tarvin is a self-professed humor engineer. His straight-forward and instructive style is not without its own version of witty, light-hearted, and downright amusing jokes, anecdotes, and perhaps the lovable tangent or two (much like this sentence). All joking aside, this session will teach you how to add humor to your content marketing. Through a step-by-step guide, as well as insights into five proven humor devices, Andrew Tarvin will leave you feeling motived and ready to tackle the humor challenge.
  • Josh Bernoff, 9:00am – 9:55am, Writing Without Bullsh*t. — Josh Bernoff’s direct and off-the-cuff style is sure to have you laughing as if you were at Laugh Boston; however, his prose aren’t without valuable takeways. Take, for example, the fact that 81 percent of professionals state that poorly written materials waste the majority of their time. Fortunately, Josh Bernoff will teach you how to avoid these inefficiencies as you embrace the culture of clean writing.
  • Sarah Cooper, 10:00am – 11:30am, How to Successfully Build Humor into Your Brand. — Sarah Cooper, creator of TheCooperReview.com and host of the Unprofessional podcast will give you actionable insights for building humor into your brand. Discover how to engage with your audience, test new concepts, gain marketing traction, and have a bit of fun with your brand’s more humorous side. This informative comedy workshop will also include an interactive Q&A, so be sure to listen carefully, speak up, and get ready to laugh out loud.
  • Rachel Kay Abers, 10:00am – 11:30am, Funny Website, Unforgettable Brand: How to Build Humor into Your Web Design & Copy. — Rachel Kay Abers will help you to get rid of the outdated brochure-ridden marketing language that might be cluttering your website. Discover how to enrich your web design with humor. With her help, you can create a fresh, funny, and modern experience for all of your website visitors.
  • David Nihill, 10:00am – 12:00pm, 7 Comedy Habits to Become a Better (And Funnier) Public Speaker. — In this two-hour workshop, you will learn how to effectively use humor as a professional communicator. David Nihill will leverage passages from his bestselling book, Do You Talk Funny, as well as the techniques, tools, and principles that the best TED speakers use to add a bit of humor to their sessions. With David Nihill’s help, you will discover that your funny bone isn’t the only humorous bone in your body (so to speak).
