With only five days remaining until #CMC17, we are excited to bring you our next attendee, Marianne of Cisco!

Tell us about you, where you work, and your content marketing history!

I work for Cisco as a Cybersecurity Marketing Manager. It has been a while since I have played an active role in any formal content management strategy (~8 years).

In a past role I was a core team member for an internal content marketing strategy and platform.

We built an enterprise wide content management strategy and publishing solution on an internal platform for ~4-5 years as part of this program team.

What prompted you to register for CMC?

In my new role, we have a gap in our content management strategy and are looking to learn and understand the new most innovative ways to implement a simple yet effective solution to manage our promotion and awareness content.

I am hoping to find some out of the box, fun and streamlined ways we can implement this much-needed solution in a timely fashion. Like every other organization, this is something we needed yesterday!

How did you convince your boss?

Easy! I am lucky to have a really supportive boss and this conference addresses a true need. We are filling a gap.

Designing, building and implementing our content strategy is one of my top priorities. I am leading a large team or contributors and need to ensure what we roll out is strong, simple, streamlined and effective for my stakeholders.

What speaker and session(s) are you most looking forward to?

Byron White’s Content Strategy Masterclass

What is your major 2017 marketing goal(s)?

Internal awareness around every individual’s role and responsibility in Cybersecurity.

What is one thing you’d like to know about Boston before heading here in April (food, drink, must-sees)

What are the must-sees if I had only 3 hours to spend doing it?

Where is the best food with the most unique ambiance a short distance from the conference venue?

What has been your favorite conference to date and why?

TED. I was at the satellite location in Palm Springs, connected to Los Angeles. The people, energy, inspiration and ideas shared at this conference left me feeling like nothing was impossible. I will never forget that amazing opportunity.

What is the best conference swag you received?

Free TOMS shoes! (and they even donated a pair, for every free pair they gave conference attendees)

If you could give one piece of advice to a speaker, a sponsor, and a conference host, what was they be?

Be authentic, we love seeing and hearing who you REALLY are. Authenticity is priceless and universal.

What’s your top conference networking tip?

Seek to listen as much as you want to be heard.

Anything else?

Looking forward to meeting people with similar goals, hearing their journeys and hopefully taking away some learnings and avoid making the same mistakes that others have already learned from.

Knowledge is power, we don’t need to repeat what doesn’t work.

We look forward to meeting you at Content Marketing Conference 2017 Marianne and thank you for your time! To learn from the top marketing experts, network with other
